St. Germain is the Ascended Master most frequently associated with the Violet Flame. He transported the Violet Flame of Freedom, as it was then known, from the Temple of Purification to a safe place in the Carpathian Mountains in Transylvania, where mystery and rumours kept it secluded. The Retreat was once physical but is now in the etheric plane.
He has incarnated on Earth many times, frequently as people of great influence and importance. His final incarnation was as the Count of St. Germain, an area of Paris. He has continued to use that name. He also incarnated as Merlin the alchemist, prophet & counsellor to King Arthur in the 5th century AD, using the Violet Flame in Magic.
He wants us to enjoy our lives, to see our freedom of choice as a joy and not a burden. He can seem very light-hearted, because he says, that is the only way to hold the Light in our hearts. When we can hold the highest vibration of visible Light in our hearts, that is: the Violet Light, we can access dimensions beyond this Earthly Realm.
